Litigation and employment law attorney
Adv. Shaul Chalfon
Haven't been paid your wages? Signed a contract, and the other side broke it? Has a claim been filed against you?

Our firm will help you get what you are entitled to.

Our firm represents employees and employers. Every case is handled personally, from planning through to the decision.

What a case usually looks like, stage by stage

Initial consultation

Our firm reviews the case, the evidence and the client's needs, and then we decide how to run the case.

Building the case

The evidence in the file, the evidence still to be gathered, an in-depth review of every aspect of the case, and drafting the statement of claim.

Letter before claim

Usually, a warning letter before a claim, to make proceedings unnecessary and avoid litigation.

Start of proceedings

Statement of claim, statement of defence and reply.

Preliminary stage

Disclosure of the evidence each side holds: discovery of documents and preliminary motions.

Testimony stage

The testimony of the claimant and the defence, and of each side's expert witnesses.

Cross-examination

Each side cross-examines the other side's witnesses.

Closing arguments

Each side sums up the evidence placed before the court, and how it supports its case.

The court's decision

The decision. And, if needed, its enforcement.

An illustration only. The details and sums do not indicate any outcome or duration; every case turns on its own facts and on the law and case law that apply to it.

Recurring questions

Questions almost everyone asks in the first conversation

All questions and answers

  • The first hearing is typically a preliminary hearing where no testimony is heard—though there are exceptions to every rule—and the parties are usually required to attend. During this preliminary hearing, the tribunal attempts to narrow the scope of the dispute, identifies missing documents, sets a schedule for the proceedings, and sometimes explores the possibility of a settlement or mediation. Do you have a preliminary hearing scheduled? Do not arrive unprepared; review the case documents and refresh your memory. To hear your full rights in your own circumstances, contact our firm.

  • Yes, during the advance notice period, an employer may waive the requirement for the employee to report to work, yet they are still obligated to pay the employee's wages. It should be noted that there are exceptional cases where payment for this period cannot be claimed. To hear your full rights in your own circumstances, contact our firm.
